Sesame Street has made an appearance in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade for 35 of its 40 years in existence.

Abby's first appearance in the parade was her premiere season in 2006.

In 2007, the Abby Cadabby giant balloon was added to the parade to the delight of all! That year, she was the first balloon to appear in the parade - and was also only the 3rd balloon in history depicting a female character at the time. In other words, she made history.

For a good laugh, note the intro of the Sesame Street float in 2008 & 2009...someone forgot to change the script I think. WE LOVE Meredith and Matt though. They're good friends of Abby and the show.
